We produce top of the line puppies for service, therapy and companionship.

Step 1

Apply : Fill out our application and spend some time talking with me so we can be sure to help you pick the perfect puppy for your individual home situation. We offer new puppies, young puppies with early training started and very occasionally we have adult dogs for adoption. If you're interested read all about our early puppy training program available for one puppy per litter.

It is just as important for you to feel comfortable with us and the process as it is for us to feel comfortable sending a little one from our home to yours. An expert breeder is a wonderful resource for a dog owner and an open-door policy in communication is key to that relationship flourishing.

*I answer emails from prospective new pet parents on Mondays and Wednesdays. I receive a LOT of emails and applications, all from really genuinely lovely families, and I respond as quickly as I am able. That said, it may take a week or so for me to get to your message. Please be patient and you are ALWAYS welcome to email me as many times as you like. Nobody is ever an irritation, I am always happy to have someone speak up if I've missed them, I hate that there isn't enough time or puppies for everyone out there. That said, I raise only a small amount of puppies so that I have the time necessary for each of my families and for each puppy to get the training, care and socialization needed to be an incredible dog. Thank you for your patience and understanding.*

Step 2

Read : One of the most important things to read when searching for your new best friend is the breeder's health guarantee. Please read through ours and ask questions if you have any. Be sure your breeder tests breeding stock for common diseases and disorders (we do). Read the laws in the breeder's state to see if there are "puppy lemon laws" that protect consumers. Read through Eden Dog and discover all  you can about our practices and philosophies as well as care and training for your new furry family member.

Step 3

Reserve  : Once you have applied you may choose to contact us regarding any available puppies. We aim for superior quality over quantity. If you want a great dog you might elect to wait for one of our babies.

Eden puppies are always worth the wait. If approved you may elect to be placed on our waiting list, which allows you to hold your "place" for puppy-selecting priority while waiting for the right litter or while investigating other reputable breeders.

When a litter is born I will email those on the waiting list in order of placement on the list (lots of information will be posted on the website as well). If you are emailed and want a puppy in that litter you will then place a deposit to reserve a puppy in that litter. You do not select your specific puppy at this time. Read our deposit agreement here.

If you choose not to wait I recommend you read How to Choose a Breeder to help you on your search as well as Questions to Ask a Breeder to help you interview prospective breeders. We wish you great luck on your puppy search!

Step 4

Choose  : Now comes the fun part; selecting and reserving your specific new best friend. Once a litter is born you'll be able to work with me directly to select the perfect dog for you. We walk you through how to choose your puppy to make sure each person finds their perfect puppy match. We work hard so that each pup goes to a custom fit home; a home for life.

Our focus on temperament (and not appearance) when selecting breeding dogs gives our puppy buyers more wiggle-room when selecting their ideal companion. Temperament is always most important to us and we take care to breed and socialize our puppies so that all of the puppies we produce will have sound temperaments.

Since the majority of our pups will fall in the middle range in temperament you can give a small amount of consideration to your preferred coat type, color and/or pattern when choosing. Know that I will take your physical preferences into consideration when making my recommendations, but I will always put temperament as the top priority in puppy selection.

Please always remember that while beauty is terribly appealing puppies are not accessories (they're our friends) and we should always choose our companions based on a match in personality and drive. Beauty is just the icing on the cake.

Step 6.

Visit  : When the litter is old enough to have visitors you can come to our home (by appointment) and spend some quality time with your baby. Each soon-to-be puppy parent will pay a $500 deposit when they select their specific puppy (this deposit deducts from the total puppy price, the remaining balance will be paid either upon pickup or when delivery is scheduled. Any delivery fee will also be paid in full when delivery is scheduled.)

You are invited to mail in a pillowcase, t-shirt or hand-towel with your scent so that the puppies can begin associating your smell with lovely things like warmth, mom, treats and nap-time. An old pillowcase works perfectly, have everyone spend a night or two sleeping on the case and send it off to me. I will snuggle your puppy in the pillowcase while your puppy is cuddling with her mother. This will help build a strong, happy association with the smells of your home. The strongest, most important sense a puppy has is smell.

Be sure to review and remember the safety procedures for visiting so that we keep all our babies safe.

COVID CHANGES: since COVID has made it very difficult to visit in person, I am offering video conference calls where you can see your puppy in real-time and have a conversation with me face-to-face so we can talk puppy prep and what your specific puppy is like. Once you place your deposit we will schedule your call if you would like to do this, you can skip it if you'd like, but it is always nice to get a chance to "meet" my families and answer questions. Calls can be as short as a few minutes to as long as an hour. Sometimes children in the family may have written up questions they want to ask about their new furry family member. I am available to help in any way I can and am happy to talk to the whole family!

Step 7.

Prepare : Make sure you have the Puppy Essentials, from feeding supplies to training tools. Read a few good books; Perfect Puppy in 7 Days (my review here) and Puppy Start Right. Ask me lots of questions and research Dog Nutrition, something I am quite passionate about. Interview trainers if you plan to use one. Look for a Force Free Trainer at the Pet Professional Guild.

Step 8.

Bring your baby home : When pick-up day rolls around and your little sweetheart is ready to come home you will come and pick up your puppy. At puppy pick-up you pay the remaining balance owed.

More and more people are choosing to have their puppy delivered to their home or alternatively my out of country families (hello Canada! My puppies love the snow up there!) can meet me at an airport and carry their puppy on board the plane with them as a "carry on". This is usually only a small fee and the puppy will have you to "nanny" him the whole way home. It is a lot kinder and less stressful than putting a puppy with the luggage in a cargo hold. There are also puppy nanny services that will fly the puppy for you as a "carry on", and you can meet your nanny at the airport closest to you.

Since so many of my families are choosing COVID safe delivery, the balance for the puppy and travel is paid shortly after puppy selection so that we can arrange transport as early as possible so you can plan the big day!

The adoption experience has ended but now the real journey begins! You will be training and socializing your baby, a process I have worked very hard to start off right for you. Don't lose my email address. I'll always be thrilled for updates, and if you hit any bumps in the road I'm here for you. I will also give you my cellphone number and am available day and night for text messages. Building your relationship with your new dog is an important part of pet ownership and I'm here to give any advice or guidance you may need!
