Puppy Application
Please know that the application below is as much about me getting to know your family (so I can be sure you're a good home for one of my babies) as it is about me ensuring that I place the perfect pup in your home (which is a good breeder's job).
Telling me about yourself is the very best way to get the perfect puppy for your family and your life. I have required certain questions be answered because temperament is a million times more important than sex or color. Our puppies fall in a narrow range of temperaments but that cannot be said of all puppy breeders.
That cute buff female puppy (as an example) isn't worth anything if she bites your child or won't come out from under the bed to play. When you're searching for a puppy remember that temperament is inherited from parents and that temperament will be greatly amplified (for the worse or for the better) depending on how the litter is raised early on.
Temperament is
always
about a billion times more important than color, pattern, size and sex (though those are fun to choose too and can be a deciding factor, just not
the
deciding factor.).

Tell Me What You're Looking For

*
Companion/family pet
Therapy dog for work or volunteer
A service dog for an adult on the spectrum &/or with anxiety or tactile disorders
A service dog for a child on the spectrum &/or with anxiety or tactile disorders
An assistance dog for other purposes
A dog for performance such as Rally, Obedience or Agility
Other
If you want a dog for a job other than spoiled family pet please know I will NOT charge you more money for the extra testing and the altered puppy-choosing process. I'm here to help you get what you want or need, not to price-gouge.
Please explain if you selected "other" above
*
I will be:
*
Picking my new puppy up in person
Flying in (meet at the airport) and flying my puppy home in the cabin as "carry on"
Considering having my puppy shipped via air cargo
Considering having my puppy transported to me via pet service
Unsure
Are you local? If not we can certainly get your puppy to you, but it requires a little more thought and work.
Someone that will live with the dog or visit the dog frequently:
*
Has a known and serious allergy or asthma reaction to dogs
Has allergies or asthma triggered by dogs
Fortunately we're allergy and asthma free
Cockapoos are a low-shedding "hypo-allergenic" dog breed but individual coat-type can make a significant difference when choosing a puppy. I can make appropriate recommendations
I want a
*
A younger, untrained puppy 7-8 weeks old
An older, trained puppy 10-12 weeks old
A trained adult dog
Why have you decided to add a dog to your family?
*
Why have you decided on a Cockapoo?
*
What do you like about the Cockapoo breed?
Someone that will live with the dog or visit the dog frequently:
*
Is fearful of dogs (to any degree) and we require a very gentle dog
Is rough or tough on dogs (to any degree) and we require an outgoing and fearless dog
We don't have either special circumstances listed above
Frightened neighbor or previously bitten child? Or maybe your toddler likes to jump and yell and hug dogs a lot?
Cockapoo Coat Type: Bearded or Smooth
It is extremely hard to tell which puppies will be bearded and which will be smooth coated.
Puppies change dramatically
as they age and grow. My multi-generational Cockapoos are
all
low-shedding
regardless of
coat type
.
F1 pups (which I do not breed) are those that are bred from a cocker parent crossed with a poodle parent and they sometimes shed heavily, especially the smooth coated variety.
The only way to guarantee coat type is to have a lab look at a pup's DNA. This is done using a cheek swab (no blood draw). I will happily perform the tests and send them off to the lab for you, if you'd like it done. You'll be responsible for the lab fees ($60-110) but I don't charge for the collection procedures. If you want a specific coat this test is the route to take. Isn't modern science amazing? :-)
Regarding offered DNA coat tests to guarantee coat type:
*
Yes; I want a Cockapoo with the classic curly coat and bearded- teddy-bear face
Yes; I want a Cockapoo with a smooth, satin coat (still low shedding)
No, the pup's coat is not important to me
Umm... The pup's coat is important to me but I won't have the test performed
Other
Please explain if you answered "other" or "Umm..."
*
If you answered "other" or that the pup's coat is important but you don't want the test performed please explain why here.
