Safety Equipment

Crates: A crate is a must-have for many reasons. It isn't a product to skip, it really is essential to house training and to stop puppy mouthing and protect the teething dog when you're not able to directly supervise him.
A puppy crate is great for when your little guy is still a little guy. These two crates can also work into adulthood, though it would be snug.

They are airline approved crates as well. If you plan to fly with your dog then you'll want an "airline approved" crate on hand.
This crate is cute, useful for camping trips, and should fit your dog through adulthood.

It will fit more easily into a car than a larger crate and it helps that it isn't really ugly.

It isn't too large for a puppy, either, which encourages soiling in the crate overnight.

Here is a versatile and well rated crate. It has two doors (more convenient than you might think) and it folds down for storage or transportation.
This crate also has a divider panel which is necessary to limit a small puppy's available space to avoid soiling the crate overnight/in the morning.

This is a slightly more expensive version than the crate above. It is made of steel and has a black powder-coated finish. It has three doors instead of two and is sturdier.

Just the upgrade, I suppose. Both crates are highly reviewed.

This crate is prettier than your average crate. It fits into home decor without looking so much like a big wire cage. I like the shelf on top so it can be functional as a place to set things, as well. The medium is an appropriate size for a cockapoo.

Car safety: is a must, especially in New Jersey. The state has instituted a law that requires dogs to be belted or secured in a vehicle at all times. You can get a nasty fine for breaking this law. And of course you want your precious pooch to be safe in the car!
